Project Details

Johns of Nottingham were approached by the specialist post tensioning (PT) company,CCL to provide a safe method of application and a coatings solution to 4no. concrete bund walls at National Grids, Isle of Grain LNG storage site.

By late spring of 2014 the bespoke PT was designed and installed by CCL and now ready for painting.

Hempel Paints provided their durable Hemucryl Enamel as a solution to withstand the aggressive sea winds associated with the area.

With rigorous health and safety issues deployed on site RAMS were agreed with National Grid to provide a method of safe working practice

Working off mobile hydraulic platforms the 4no. 20 meter high structures each with a circumference of 200m took a dedicated team of 10 operatives the whole of the summer to ‘circumnavigate’ and complete the painting to the 20,000m2  of concrete surfaces and associated steel and pipe work to specification.
