Lend Lease - HMP Fosse Way

Project Details

Lendlease, one of the largest Construction companies in the U.K awarded Johns of Nottingham the decorating package for the amenity buildings at the newly constructed HMP Fosse Way site.

The amenity buildings are made up of the following –

  • Resources Hub
  • Support Building
  • Service Hub
  • Kitchen
  • Workshop

The project is part of the Government’s investment into creating thousands of modern and innovative prison places with a view to rehabilitating prisoners.

This prison is the second of its type to be built in the UK, designed with education, training, and jobs for prisoners on release as its main purpose.

Intended to cut crime and reduce reoffending, the vision for prisoners is to learn new skills and acquire training that will provide them with a viable opportunity to work in key industries when back in the community.

With a full time dedicated Project Manager based on site and visiting Commercial Manager & Director once a week, the works were managed well and gave the opportunity to building some successful working relationships with the Lendlease team.

"It has been a pleasure. I’ve said it before, but you have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Thanks very much for your efforts." "I would also like to add, that you and your team have done a fantastic job throughout 102. The client has complimented the standard of the building many times. All the team who have worked in the building have been an absolute pleasure to work with. There have been no issues whatsoever from a safety perspective and they have always respected any concerns raised as a building. Connor in particular has been fantastic for me trying to get the areas over the line, not once has he complained about a “can you do this, can you do that”. He is a credit to your company. Thanks very much Chris you should be very proud at what you and the team have achieved in building 102."
